Overview
Your Member Centre is chock full of handy information about your Blended Benefits Plan, including your Benefit Period.
Your Blended Benefits Plan operates within a 12 month Benefit Period. The intent is for funds within that period to be used for the reimbursement of expenses you incurred during that time period.
Not all Benefit Periods line up neatly with the calendar year, so it’s important to be familiar with the specific start and end dates unique to your Plan.

The details
Where do I find my Benefit Period?
You can find your Benefit Period in your Online Member Centre.
- Log in to your Member Centre
- From your dashboard, select the feature you’d like to check your benefit period for under My Benefits
- Once there, you’ll see the start and end date of your Benefit Period along with your Claim submission cutoff date.
What does this mean for my claim reimbursements?
A claim submission cutoff date is the amount of time you have after the end of your Benefit Period to submit eligible expenses dated within that Benefit Period.
Depending on your Plan type and feature, your submission cutoff may be:
- 30 days after your Benefit Period ends
- 90 days after your Benefit Period ends
We recommend checking your specific dates before submitting a claim.
Example
If your Benefit Period runs 2021-01-01 to 2021-12-31:
- With a 90-day submission cutoff, you would have until 2022-03-31 to submit eligible expenses dated within that Benefit Period.
- With a 30-day submission cutoff, you would have until 2022-01-30 to submit eligible expenses dated within that Benefit Period.
Any expenses dated within the Benefit Period but submitted after your submission cutoff won’t be eligible for reimbursement.
